Favorite Schools: No favorites yet but Williams is hearing from Florida (the first time anyone at the school has heard from the Gators), USC, Oregon State, Oregon, UCLA, Utah and UNLV.
The Skinny: Corey has been a starter on the varsity squad since his sophomore year and has been adding admirers ever since. “Corey is drawing attention from college programs that we have never heard from before,” said Las Vegas head coach Kris Cinkovich. “We have never heard from Florida before, but because of Corey the Gators are showing interest our program,” added Cinkovich.
It is easy to see why Corey is drawing such attention. Williams has silky soft hands and he’s an outstanding runner after the catch. Corey has excellent feet and has tremendous moves. He makes big plays in big games. “When the ball is in the air, he will go up and make the play,” said Cinkovich.
Another key ingredient that the D1 schools like about Corey is his competitive nature. He will do anything to help his team win a ballgame.
Williams was one of the main reasons that Las Vegas won the state championship last season and ranked as one of the nation’s 75 teams in the nation by Rivals.
Look for Las Vegas to be one of the Silver State’s top teams again in 2002…
