Position: Quarterback
Size and speed: Bret Meyer is 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds. He has a 40-yard dash time of 4.5 seconds.
Statistics: Meyer has been the starting quarterback for Atlantic since his sophomore season.
As a sophomore, Meyer threw for 1,300 yards and 13 touchdowns.
As a junior in 2001, Meyer accumulated 1,570 passing yards and 17 touchdowns. Meyer also possesses the speed necessary to run the football effectively.
Honors: Meyer earned second team all-conference honors in 2001 and was a first team all-western Iowa selection
Favorite Schools: He has heard from five schools and they are the ones right now that he is the most interested in. They are Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, Penn State and Wisconsin.
When asked if he had a current favorite, Meyer said, “not really."
"The in-state schools are probably a little bit ahead at this point in time because I’ve talked to them more. Once I get out and make some visits that could change."
Skinny: According to Meyer, former teammate and high school All-American selection Blake Larsen gave him some pointers regarding the recruiting process.
“Blake told me not to commit to a school too soon. I’ll probably wait until I take all five of my official visits before I make a decision.”
Distance Problem: “Not really, but most of the schools looking at me right now are all from the Midwest anyway.”
