Position: Offensive Tackle
Size and speed: Aaron Brant is 6-foot-7 and 285 pounds. He has a 40-yard dash time of 5.2 seconds
Statistics: “We are more of a running based offense,” Brant said. “We pound the ball inside a lot.” Brant also started at defensive tackle in 2001 where he garnered 65 tackles and four sacks.
Honors: Brant was named a first team all-conference selection and first team all-area selection on the offensive line in 2001.
Favorite Schools: He has received letters from Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Stanford, Notre Dame, Michigan, Northwestern, Harvard, Missouri, and Colorado with offers from Iowa and Iowa State so far.
When asked for a list of his current favorites, named the following schools (listed in order of mention):
Iowa State - "They have done a 180-degree turn. The players really like the coaches down there. They have a great learning facility.”
Stanford - “I don’t know much about them, but they have been trying to contact my football coach."
Iowa - “They send me letters all of the time. I have talked to them a lot.”
Colorado - "I’m kind of interested in them.”
Kansas State – “The coach that was recruiting me for Iowa State recently went there.
Skinny: Brant said that there is a good chance that he may make his college decision within the next six months.
When asked if he had a current favorite, Brant said, “Iowa State. They are number one right now. They offered me a scholarship right after my sophomore year. That is kind of hard to top.”
"I’m pretty sure I know what I am going to do, but I may want to take a visit or two."
Camps this summer: “This summer I will go to Iowa State again for sure and probably Iowa’s camp too. I’m still debating that.”
Priorities On Choice: “The atmosphere. I want to see how the players get along with the coaches and find out how the coaches are as people. I am looking at the people aspect of things mainly.”
Recruiting the Hardest: “Iowa State probably sends the most mail and Iowa is right up there with them.”
"I’m probably better at pass blocking but I like run blocking too. I think it’s easier to set a
guy up with pass blocking.”
Distance could be a factor, but he is not sure. It is not now.
When he was younger his favorite team was Purdue.
Brant is in the top 25% of his class.
