Junior TE visits Duke

Tight end Calvert Schaefer of Westminster (Md.) Winters Mill had taken one visit to Boston College last fall and decided to add another ACC school on his list of destinations. Schaefer attended last weekend's junior day at Duke and discussed his first trip to Durham.
"I really liked the campus," said Schaefer, who took the visit with his father. "I liked how it was rural around it too. The weather was great and the facilities were real nice too."

Schaefer, 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds, had plenty of face-to-face time with the coaching staff.
"I got to meet Coach Zac Roper, who is my recruiter," said Schaefer. "I met the head coach too and had my picture taken with him. All the coaches I met were nice guys to talk to."
The visit to Durham definitely seemed to impress Schaefer.
"I hadn't heard much about them before the visit, besides that they're a great school," he said. "But since going on my visit, I like Duke a lot. It sounds like the coaches have the plan for success in place and Duke is going to be near the top of the ACC real soon."
Aside from Duke, Schaefer continues to receive serious interest from Boston College and Penn State, but has no further visits planned at this time.
