Junior Rivals100 QB gets two more offers

Rivals100 2007 quarterback Tyrod Taylor out of Hampton, Va. has picked up a couple more offers since the end of the football season. Who has the 6-foot-1, 193-pounder received offers from and what else has been going on?
"He picked up a couple more offers from Tennessee and Maryland," his father Rodney Taylor said. "He didn't say much about them and I know he doesn't have any favorites at this time, although a lot of people think he's going to Virginia Tech, but so many other schools have shown interest in him like Penn State, North Carolina State, Florida State and Florida among others. The big thing for him is that he wants a school that throws the ball a lot."

Taylor finished the football season by helping lead the Crabbers to win the state championship as the quarterback threw for 2,500 yards and 32 touchdowns.
"I know he was very happy to get that state championship because this had been the longest drought in a long time for the school," he said. "Before this they hadn't won it since 1998, but they finally got it done this year. Tyrod also was named all-state player of the year in the Daily Press."
Taylor is keeping himself busy this spring by playing basketball.
"He's averaging 24-points a game for Hampton," Rodney said. "He's been talking like he wants to win the state championship in that as well, but we'll see. Once basketball is finished then we'll focus on the combines."
Taylor was invited to the Army All-American Combine last weekend, but couldn't go due to basketball. He was also intending to go to Notre Dame this weekend January 14th for a visit, but cancelled that as well.
It's early to start scheduling, but at the moment Taylor is looking at heading to the Elite College Combine in May and one of the Nike camps either at Penn State or Georgia. Rodney also mentioned they may make a run sometime this summer through some of the Florida football camps.
