Junior RB enjoys The Swamp

Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge running back Brandon Davis went to Gainesville, Fla., this past weekend for the University of Florida Junior Day. The Class of 2008 Peach State prospect had a great visit.
"It was really overwhelming driving up to campus and seeing how the football stadium and the basketball arena were both right there together," Davis said. "I went through the locker room and got to see the national championship trophies. I also went all the way to the top (of The Swamp) in a suite and got to see what the view was like from up there."

The 5-foot-10, 190-pounder also got the chance to get to know members of the Florida coaching staff.
"We sat down and ate and talked to the coaches," Davis said.
Davis is being recruited by Rivals.com Class of 2006 Top 25 recruiter Billy Gonzales for the Gators.
Florida has yet to extend a written scholarship offer to Davis, but the talented junior feels one could be forthcoming. Virginia Tech has already offered.
"They did not say anything about it," he said. "But I do feel that it's very close. They are asking me to come back down and see them again after National Signing Day."
The next trip to a college for Davis will be a short one. He will make the drive over to Athens for Junior Day at the University of Georgia on the weekend of Feb. 18.
"Coach Mike Bobo sent me a text and invited me to come," he said.
Other schools also remained involved with Davis.
"Vanderbilt sent me a text and said that they are looking to offer me," he said. "Wake Forest also asked me to come to their Junior Day. LSU, Tennessee and Notre Dame also remain involved."
Davis will attend the NIKE Combine this weekend at Douglass High School in Atlanta.
