Junior profile: Paul Backowski
Junior offensive lineman Paul Backowski will be one of the top prospects in the state of Minnesota this coming season.
The 6-foot-7 and 245 pound Backowski, from Foley, Minn., moved into the starting lineup at tackle on both sides of the ball at the beginning of his junior season. He saw some varsity playing time his sophomore year.

Backowski bench presses 225 pounds, squats 385, and runs the 40 yard dash in 5.17 seconds. He has a 3.3 GPA.
Backowski is also a varsity starter on the basketball team and was 13th in the state in the shot during his sophomore year.
"Next Wednesday I'm going down to Minnesota to look at the facilities and see their basketball game," Backowski said. "My top three are Minnesota, Colorado, and Iowa."
"And I'm looking at Wisconsin definitely."
"I'll probably visit some schools in the summer. I'll go to Minnesota's camp. And maybe Colorado and Iowa State for camps."
