Junior LB familiar with the Hokies

Linebacker Zaukeus Witcher of Ridgeway (Va.) Magna Vista is still in the midst of his junior season, but in the meantime has also been dealing with recruiting. Several schools are already in the mix, but one ACC program seems to be standing out above the rest at this point.
"Recruiting is good so far," said Witcher, who is 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds. "Virginia Tech and Boston College have been showing the most interest."

This fall, Witcher has attended a few Virginia Tech games and seemed impressed by his experiences.
"The visits were great, I like it there," said Witcher. "I like the people, the environment, the school and the games."
Aside from Virginia Tech, Witcher mentioned that he would like to visit Boston College, Syracuse and California when he has more time after the season.
During the summer Witcher attended camps at Virginia Tech and also a Nike Training Camp. With all of these visits to Virginia Tech, and an obvious early comfort level with the program, Witcher was asked if the Hokies are his early leader.
"Well I really haven't seen everyone yet, but I've liked Tech sports forever and I've enjoyed my visits," said Witcher.
On the field this fall, Magna Vista continues their playoff run this Friday night against Christiansburg.
"I've played outside linebacker and a little slot receiver," said Witcher. "I really think that I've stepped up a lot for my team. They help me and I help them."
Witcher has totaled 10.5 sacks, 12 tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and has scored two defensive touchdowns so far this season.
