Junior Florida QB getting early looks

Class of 2007 quarterback prospect Taylor Beasley of Winter Park (Fla.) Lake Howell is getting attention from several Division I-A programs.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound signal caller broke the Seminole County, Fla., all-time passing record this year as he racked up 2,353 yards for his team.

"(Breaking the record) actually was pretty surprising," he said. "I found out about it the last week of the season."
Beasley talked about his attributes as a player.
"My accuracy and my arm strength (are my two biggest strengths)," he said. "We run a spread/option attack, so we throw it around a lot.
"I can run it, too. I probably get about five carries a game."
Notre Dame is among the many schools sending Beasley letters at the moment. The Irish, particularly head coach Charlie Weis have caught his eye.
"I like their tradition and their new coach," he said. "It seems like he is good at developing quarterbacks."
South Florida is another program that Beasley likes. The Bulls grabbed national headlines this year with their convincing 45-14 victory over nationally-ranked Louisville and are a new member of the Big East Conference.
"They are on the rise," he said.
Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida and Central Florida also are among the schools showing early interest in Beasley.
He added that he will have to "narrow it down" before deciding on any summer camps, but Notre Dame, USF and UCF all are possibilities this summer.
