Junior DE ready to explode

HOUSTON - If you're looking for that mean streak on the defensive line, than look no further than junior defensive end for Houston (Texas) Spring Woods, Kevin Brothers.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pound defensive end made his debut this year at the varsity level and the 2007 prospect got after it in a big way. However, Brothers is not yet satisfied.

"I think I've done alright playing up to this point, but your first year out is always going to be difficult," Brothers said. "I wasn't used to the new techniques that I was learning and that made things tough."
"But, if you start early you hopefully take that experience to the next year and do a lot better than the year before."
Brothers is already getting credit from college coaches on his ability. UTEP and Texas A&M have sent mail to the defender and there really is not secret on who the favorite is.
"I'm hoping I'll end up at Texas A&M actually," Brothers said. "That's the college I really want to go to. I've just been watching them for a long time and I've been hoping to go there."
While Brothers and his team fell short of the playoffs, one of his major strengths is to learn from the previous and correct his errors.
"I guess the way I pay attention and how I strive to do everything right is what makes me a good player," Brothers said. 'That's going to pay off in the long run."
