Junior DE enjoys FNL

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida's Friday Night Lights provides an opportunity to not only see major senior targets on campus in Gainesville, but also many rising juniors that will be looked at by the Gator staff. One such junior is Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood defensive end Demarcus Walker.
"It was a big experience," Walker said. "There was a lot of competition. I just stayed focused on myself and did my job."

The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder received some recognition from his position coach and feedback that he will be hearing from the Gators down the road.
"The defensive coordinator (Dan Quinn) said that tonight he is going to watch my highlight film," Walker said. "He said he is going to recruit me."
The in-state product is very familiar with the local program.
"Both my parents are Gator fans so I was surrounded by that," Walker said. "I am still thinking about what school I want to go to, but it is a wonderful school."
Earlier in the week, Walker camped at Florida State.
"It was nice," Walker said. "I felt a lot of love from the coaches. Great facilities. It is a great atmosphere."
In addition to camping with Florida and Florida State, Walker also worked out for Clemson, South Carolina, and Southern Miss this summer. He talked about where things stand as he gets ready to start his junior season.
"Right now Clemson is showing me the most interest," Walker said. "I usually talk to Coach (Marion) Hobby, the defensive ends coach, on a consistent basis. I have a good connection there. But right now it is neutral for everybody."
Walker has been verbally offered by Clemson, Florida International, Marshall, South Carolina, and Southern Miss.
