Junior college CB will sign with AM

Texas A&M has had tremendous success on the junior college ranks and it looks like the Aggies have added another blue-chipper to their class of 2005. This time, the pledge is from familiar territory – Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College.
According to Coffeyville assistant Sean Cherico, A&M has landed a commitment from four-star lockdown cornerback Marquis Carpenter. “K” as he’s known by his friends and teammates, committed to the Aggies after a November official visit, but still took two trips to Missouri and Memphis before he re-affirmed his pledge.

“He’s all good as far as we know,” Cherico said. “We expect him to sign with A&M on Wednesday. He’s one hell of a player. Coach Pope from A&M did a great job of recruiting him.”
Carpenter, ranked as the nation’s No. 21 junior college player by Rivals.com, is originally from Melbroune, Fla., and will have three years to play two seasons.
