Junior All-American heads to USC

Anaheim (Calif.) Servite junior All-America linebacker Chris Galippo didn't waste any time at all making a decision. After receiving an offer from USC coach Pete Carroll, the 6-foot-3, 232-pounder jumped on the offer earlier today.
On what is signing day for the class of 2006, Carroll lands one of the biggest prospects in the nation for the class of 2007. Galippo picked USC over an early offer from Boston College and heavy interest from Notre Dame and UCLA.

Galippo would have been one of the most heavily recruited players in next year's class, but he ended it almost before it really got started.
"He committed and is really excited about it," Patty Galippo said. "It's awesome. Now he can focus on his senior season and not have to worry about any distractions."
Rivals.com will interview Galippo on his decision shortly.
It obviously comes on the heels of what is being hailed today by Rivals.com as the nation's No. 1 class. Galippo is considered a lock to make the Rivals.com Junior All-American team, which will be released later this week.
