Jumbo athlete to decide in September

Barnegat, New Jersey tight end/defensive end Jarrett Darmstatter was a relative unknown until a couple of months ago when he received his first offer of the recruiting process from Iowa.
The 6-foot-4, 241-pound jumbo athlete's most recent offers came from West Virginia and Boston College around two weeks ago. Don't be surprised if other schools jump into the mix.

If other schools are interested, however, they might not have too long to wait. Darmstatter is targeting September as month in which he will make his decision.
"I'll narrow everything down by the end of the summer," he explained. "Then I'll probably make my decision right at the beginning of the season."
The next couple of weeks will be pivotal for Darmstatter, as he has not yet made his summer schedule.
He said no school is a lock to make his final list. Darmstatter and the other students at Barnegat have four more days of school.
He has not made any visits since spring break, more than a month ago.
There is a consensus among college coaches that Darmstatter is a big-time prospect at the FBS level. What's not known, however, is what position he will play.
"I have schools that want me as a tight end and schools that want me as a defensive end. I think Michigan State, West Virginia, Iowa, East Carolina and Boston College want me as a defensive end. I don't really care either way.
"The biggest thing for me is going to be academics and then the coaches ... just how well I fit in with them."
