North Charleston (S.C.) Fort Dorchester tight end Justin Birch is getting some attention from schools throughout the South.
"Right now, it's going all right," he said. "I'm trying to look at the schools and see what they offer.

"Right now, I'm getting stuff in the mail from South Carolina, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia Tech and a couple of other schools."
Birch has made unofficial visits to Auburn, Clemson and South Carolina this spring.
"They were pretty nice programs," he said. "I was pretty interested in that Auburn had a good academic program for the football players and South Carolina and Clemson, they have pretty good equipment and I liked both coaching staffs.
"I'm looking for a good academic program and a good football program overall."
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound jumbo athlete is versatile in that he could play either tight end or defensive end at the next level.
"I played wide receiver last year," Birch said. "This year, I'm going to play tight end since I gained a little bit of weight. I'm also going to try defensive end for the first time ever."
Birch feels that regardless of the position he's playing, he will succeed.
"I know that if I go out on the field with a task I need to accomplish, that I am going to get it done," he said. "I'm going to do I can to go full speed and do what I can to get the job done."
Birch plans to camp at Auburn, Clemson and South Carolina and will attend the Clemson NIKE Camp on May 21.
