Juco WR quickly adds offers

It's been a tough year for Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College and wide receiver Cedric Houston as his team is at the bottom of the standings list holding down an 0-7 record overall.
Nonetheless, the 6-foot-1, 201-pound receiver is ready for their game this weekend versus Independence to get things turned around. On the bright side of things, he holds two Division I offers from Arkansas and Tulsa. Houston could also be adding others before it's all said and done.

"It's great to have those offers because both schools want me to come in and bring a big impact right away," Houston said. "I'm just ready to go anywhere like that where I can fit in and make plays."
Purdue, Central Florida, Kansas, and Kansas State are all on the list of interested schools. Houston explains that it's too early to name a favorite.
"Not really," Houston said about his top teams. "I'm just very open right now. I'm not graduating until May, so I've got some time to look around."
Looking around is already something that Houston is getting proactive with. He will take an unofficial visit on Nov. 4 to watch Arkansas take on South Carolina. Coach James Shibest for the Razorbacks has been very instrumental in recruiting Houston.
"He's been contacting me since spring ball with letters and we've had the chance to talk on the phone quite a bit," Houston said. "He was up here last week as a matter of fact, but I wasn't able to talk with him because of the rules. I did end up talking to him later and I told him I'd like to go out to that game."
There was also a time that Houston was contemplating giving up the sport after high school. After he took some time off, he decided he'd head to Fort Scott and do what he felt was the best for him.
"The love of the game was huge," Houston said. "I couldn't hide that or make it go away. Down in my heart I knew I wanted to play. So I've gotten out there and really had some great things happen to me every since."
