Juco TE hoping to draw more interest

Holmes (Miss.) Junior college tight end Walter Warfield has scheduled one official visit and has begun to attract interest from one Western Athletic Conference school.
“I will visit Tennessee-Chattanooga the first weekend of December,” the 6-foot-2, 235-pound Warfield said. “Tulsa has been expressing a lot of interest lately. They called and visited with me and my coach. They wanted my transcripts and a highlight tape. We got those sent off to them.

“I am also getting some interest from Alcorn State and Tennessee State. Right now, what I know about Tulsa is sounding good. I am hopeful that will lead to an offer and I can go visit there soon.”
Warfield, a native of Vicksburg, Miss., is looking for a place he can get on the field quickly.
“I want to try to play as soon as I can,” he said. “I don’t really care where the school is. It doesn’t necessarily have to be close to home.”
Warfield was slowed by an ankle injury some of the season this year. Holmes finished with a 2-7 record on the season. He caught 14 passes for 221 yards and one touchdown.
