Juco stars heading to UofH

Coffeyville (Kan.) Coffeyville C.C. three-star defensive back Jacky Candy has been listed as a long-time commitment to Memphis, but when he signs his national letter of intent tomorrow he'll be signing with somebody different.
"I just committed to UofH last night," Candy, a mid-term graduate from Coffeyville, said. "I had a great time on my visit last week. I felt comfortable with the coaches, and it's a really good fit for me."

Candy said he plans on coming in and making an impact.
"They have guys leaving at my position, so I'll get a shot at playing early," he said. "I also felt good about the coaches recruiting me. I built a good bond with coach Zach Spavital. He's a really down to earth coach. He's a great guy."
Candy said he won't be coming alone from Coffeyville either.
"My teammate, Jarve Dean, is also signing tomorrow with Houston," Candy said. "He's also committed. It'll be nice to have a teammate down there with me."
Dean is ranked as the No. 51 junior college player in the nation by Rivals.com. He is a 6-foot-2, 320-pound offensive guard.
