Juco standout makes decision

It didn't take three-star juco offensive lineman Mike Gibson (6-5, 290, 5.0) from Suisun City (Calif.) Solano City College to make up his mind on what school he will attend. The talented prospect had five offers but now he has chose one.
"I decided to commit to Cal," Gibson said. "I talked it over with my family and we just thought Berkeley was the better program for me."

"Cal is local and the coaches are awesome," Gibson said. "It's the perfect school for me."
"I talked to the other two schools, Arizona and Missouri, and let them know of my decision," Gibson said. "I can't wait to be a Bear."
"Cal recruited me to play left tackle and there is an excellent opportunity for me to get playing time," Gibson said. "Just like any other school, I have to go there and earn it."
On Sunday it looked like Cal was in the driver's seat for Gibson because he came home pretty excited about his visit to Cal.
The following is an excerpt from Gibson's visit report.
"My trip to Cal was great," Gibson said. "I loved every minute of it."
"Though the visit was everything I thought it would be, I didn't commit," Gibson said. "I was very much tempted to do so."
"I just want to check my other schools, but Cal is everything I wanted," Gibson said. "I still have Arizona and Missouri to visit."
"I liked the players and the coaches at Cal," Gibson said. "I liked the atmosphere of the school. It was a great time."
"I should have my mind made up and a decision on what school I'm going to attend around Christmas time."
The scouting report on Gibson is he has that good combination of aggressiveness, he's physical and has good strength.
Gibson earned all-state honors for his sophomore performance. He attended Napa, Calif., high school and graduates in June. He will have three years to play two.
