Juco standout chooses college

Juco standout defensive back Chris Baloney (6-1, 188, 4.43) from Visalia (Calif.) from College of the Sequoias has the talent to play all four defensive back positions. The versatile Baloney has made his college decision.
"I committed to Arizona State," Baloney said. "Their coaches are really down to earth and I liked their facilities."

"Plus the fact that my best friend Jamar Williams plays for ASU," Baloney said. "His number is four and he plays outside linebacker for ASU. Jamar had a good bowl game."
Baloney chose the Sun Devils over other offers from Texas Tech, Houston, Cal, Boise State, San Diego State and Nevada.
Baloney took recruiting visits to San Diego State and Texas Tech prior his visit to ASU.
Baloney played half the game at safety and the other half at corner for College of the Sequoias and was a first-team all-conference selection in 2004 after racking up 56 tackles, 21 pass breakups and one pick.
The Sun Devils get a player who is very aggressive who can come up in run support and bring the hammer. As a corner he has the ability to put out on an island and get the job done.
"My favorite responsibility as a corner is being on the island," Baloney said. "I love the challenge of being one-on-one and being in that situation."
Baloney was recruited by ASU for his cornerback skills so his rough and ready attitude should come in handy when taking on all the sophisticated offenses of the Pac 10.
Baloney will have three years to play two for ASU.
