JUCO receiver getting interest

Oakland (Calif.) Laney C.C. receiver Chuck Jacobs received some interest from Division I colleges coming out of Richmond (Calif.) Kennedy High School two years ago, and a stint in junior college has seemed to make that interest grow.
"Iowa State is interested, and a couple other schools are but my coach hasn't told me who they are yet," Jacobs said. "I haven't done too much research on [Iowa State] yet, I'm keeping my options open."

Jacobs says he is benefiting from the junior college experience.
"It was good, it was a good experience for me," he said. "Moving from high school to college, they're two different levels. It was a great experience.
"Laney is a good community college, they have a good system and a good football program. They have a great staff up there. We have a wide-open offense, kind of a spread with some I formations."
Jacobs relies on his quickness on the football field.
"My quickness is my biggest strength," he said. "I'm versatile; I can play kickoff returner and punt returner."
When the offers start to come for Jacobs, academics will play a role in his decision.
"I'm looking for academics," he said. "I want to know their system, how they're tutoring and how they help their athletes out."
