JUCO RB looks for offers

With good size and tremendous speed, Compton College running back Thomas Perez has all the tools to become a DI running back following his sophomore season in the California JUCO ranks. Perez has been getting early looks from Colorado and Mississippi and hopes to have more calls soon.
Perez led the Tarters in rushing in 2004 with 325 yards on 70 carries and six touchdowns in nine games. Despite being in a pass-first system, Perez was recognized as second team all-Western States Conference—South Division for his efforts.

Right now Perez likes Colorado the most, but he also has other favorites.
"I'd say Colorado, USC, Washington and Boise State are places that I would like to play," said Perez. "I like Colorado the most. They've been on my mind since high school."
Perez is an academic non-qualifier out of Lynwood High School. He was being recruited by Oregon and Oregon State in high school.
"I never got an offer," said Perez. "Once they found out I would be able to get out, they stopped calling."
Perez is 6 feet 1, 215 pounds and recently ran the 40-yard dash for scouts in under 4.5 seconds. He also benched 19 reps of 225 pounds at the workout.
Perez says he is on track to be out in December with his A.A. He said the Compton coaches talk regularly with Colorado coach Darian Hagen. He likes his chances of ending up in Colorado.
"Yea, I think it will happen," Perez said.
