Juco QB makes the call

Santa came and left a special present for the BYU Cougars on Christmas eve. Luckily for them they didn't have to wait until the next morning to open it.
The Cougars received a commitment from three-star juco dual-threat quarterback Cade Cooper.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Cooper from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, chose the Cougars over offers from Arizona, Utah, Troy and Utah State as well as others.
"I decided to go to BYU," Cooper said. "I made my decision the day before Christmas."
Cooper had been mulling over his decision for several days deciding between BYU and Arizona, but had finally made his choice and let the BYU coaching staff know.
"I called the BYU coaches and told them that's where I wanted to be," Cooper said. "It has a great atmosphere, great coaches, great opportunity to come right in and compete for the job."
What was it exactly that helped Cooper decide between BYU and Arizona?
"I'll just say that it's right there close to my house," Cooper said. "It's close to my home. Plus they've had a great season this year."
That includes their bowl victory over Oregon, which Cooper made sure to watch.
"I watched their bowl game," Cooper said. "After watching I feel like they could compete with anyone in the nation."
So with plenty of confidence in his new team, Cooper is ready to get to work as a Cougar.
"Yeah I'm ready to get over there," Cooper said. "(The quarterback situation) is open and that was one of the biggest decisions. So I'm just looking for the opportunity to come in and play right off. Just the opportunity to play for that spot."
