Juco QB heading South

One of the top junior college quarterbacks in the junior college ranks has made his decision. So who’s the lucky team to land El Dorado (Kan.) Butler County C.C. quarterback Chad Wilmott?
“I took my visit to UAB this weekend, and I’ve decided to go ahead and commit there,” Wilmott, a three-star quarterback that is 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, said. “I really liked the coaches and I liked the University. I went and asked all the coaches and players questions that I wanted answered, and I liked what I heard.

“I think I could fit in there really well. I like the offense and it’s a good fit for me.”
Wilmott was also recruited by Illinois State and by Troy State, but UAB was the team that recruited him the most aggressive and it paid off with a pledge.
“They have a two-year starter coming back, but he’s only played for about half the time,” Wilmott said. “I’ll come in right away and be the No. 2 guy. I’m going to work hard and hopefully good things will happen.”
Wilmott led Butler County to the NCJAA national championship this season.
