Juco QB getting interest

After earning first-team all-KJCC honors, three-star quarterback Eugene Smith of Garden City (Kan.) Community College is becoming a wanted man.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound dual-threat quarterback that will graduate in December with three years to play two seasons, is getting plenty of attention from schools all over the country.

"I've been talking a lot to Purdue, Indiana, Southern Miss and Louisville," Smith said.
"I don't have any official offers yet, but I'm actually setting up a visit to Louisville here this next week and the others have come to talk to me at school."
Smith, who is originally from Pensacola, Fla., said he is looking for the right opportunity to get playing time, but also is trying to find a place that's the right fit academically. At this point, he feels a few schools looking at him could have that right fit.
"I like Southern Miss, personally," he said.
"I took a visit there when I was in high school. Ever since then I thought it would be cool to go there. I'd say Southern Miss and Louisville are the teams that have caught my eye the most."
In 2008, Smith completed 61 percent of his passes and had eight touchdown throws. He averaged 216.3 yards a game and led the conference in total yards with 1,633 yards.
