Juco punter starting to gain interest

Blinn (Texas) College punter Lance Lane earned All-American honors in 2002. He is on his way to landing those honors again this year according to his coach.
"Lance is one of the better punters I've seen in quite a while," Blinn College assistant coach Drew Myers said. "He was a first-team junior college All-American last year. I'll be surprised if he doesn't do it again. He's averaging 44 yards per punt again this year. He's just playing with a lot of confidence."

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound native of Brenham, Texas has only one scholarship offer but has more schools beginning to show interest.
"Temple is the only offer he has right now," Myers said. "But, Kansas State and Kansas have expressed a lot of interest in the last month. Both of them are needing a punter and they will be back to find out more as the recruiting heats up. Those three aren't alone, though. More and more schools are contacting us for film and who is available out of our sophomores. So, there will be more as time goes on."
Lane won't look at just football when choosing a school.
"He's a football player," Myers said. "He is open to anything. He wants to win. Who doesn't. That will be a big factor for him. But he also is very into academics. He will look at that when choosing a school too."
