Juco OL worthy of four-stars

Think of the team when they were high school juniors. Teyo Johnson and Amon Gordon, now both at Stanford, were the offensive threats, while Damien Holman, now a highly recruited junior college prospect at Palomar, led the offensive line.
While Everett (Wash.) Mariner eventually lost in the title game, the star-studded cast that helped Mariner get that far in the first place are still making waves.

While everybody knows about Johnson and Gordon, who both transferred as seniors to San Diego’s Mira Mesa High School, little is known about Holman.
Holman, who is a 6-foot-6, 305-pound offensive tackle, graduated from Mariner in 2000 and then enrolled at Palomar Junior College, which is located in San Marcos, Calif.
“My dad found the school off of the Internet,” Holman said. “He said it would be a good place, so that’s what I decided to do.”
He’s played so well that Holman is now looking at his options for a four-year school.
Arizona, Iowa State and Missouri have offered scholarships. He’s scheduled a visit to Mizzou for Dec. 14.
But Holman may be tough to tear away from the Pac 10.
“I like Arizona a lot. Their coach calls me all the time. I just think I want to stay out West, but I haven’t totally made up my mind yet.”
Holman will graduate in May, so he will enroll at the school of his choice this summer. He will have three years to play two.
Holman still keeps in touch with Gordon and Johnson.
“They’re my best friends. We talk a lot.”
