Juco OL has flexibility on position

North Dakota State College of Science offensive lineman Rafael Silva was one of the top offensive linemen in the state of Florida during his senior season. He traveled to North Dakota to continue his football career and his performance on the field has several schools keeping an eye on him.
"Rafael is a hard nosed, physical player," NDSCS assistant coach Mike Shafer said. "He is the type of player you want protecting your quarterback. We have played him at both left and right tackle and he can handle either one."

The 6-foot-3, 290-pound Silva played in all 10 games during the 2004 season for the Wildcats.
"He did not allow a sack last season," Shafer said. "He just dominates at his position. His grades for his performance on the field was at 85 percent or better in every game."
Silva's play is attracting attention from schools across the country.
"He has told me the top schools on his list are North Carolina State, Arkansas, Boston College and Mississippi. They all have film. He does not have any scholarship offers, yet."
