JUCO OL getting closer

College of the Canyons offensive lineman/defensive tackle Joe Blackard is now getting close to where he will have to decide between two division one schools.
"I just talked to coach Atkins from Troy State and he said that they want to trip me there and offer me a scholarship. Washington State has not offered yet, but they are planning on getting back to me on Monday or Tuesday."

At one time South Carolina and Central Florida were strongly considering the huge 6-foot-7, 325 pounder, but "South Carolina fell through and so did Central Florida." "They both wanted somebody to be able to enroll this month."
Joe Blackard would not be able to play until this August, but he will have three years to play two years.
Before attending The College of the Canyons junior college in California he played defensive tackle for Anchorage High School, where he was named Alaska Player of the Year by the local Anchorage newspaper.
Defensive tackle in college: "I could play defensive tackle easily," he said with a chuckle, "and I would have more fun at defense."
