JUCO linebacker getting looks

Los Angeles (Calif.) Pierce College linebacker Stephen Johnson, who played high school football at Plantation (Fla.) High, is on the recruiting radar for multiple Division I-A schools, including several from the Pac-10.
The 6-foot-1, 235-pounder, who had more than 100 tackles last season, says that Oregon is showing him the most interest at the moment.

"I think (Oregon) could be close to offering," Johnson said. "I know a little bit about them. I like their uniforms and their tradition."
Johnson plans to make an unofficial visit to Eugene in April for the Ducks' spring game. He is being recruited by assistant coach Steve Greatwood.
California also has been showing interest in Johnson.
"I am going up there to check them out after I visit Oregon," he said. "They are closer, so I can go up there easier."
Illinois, Washington State and LSU also have been in touch.
"I have been talking to Illinois coach Tom Sims," he said. "I've also talked with coaches at Washington State and the linebackers coach at LSU has been sending me handwritten letters."
Johnson will graduate in December.
