Juco LB to take first visit
Butler County (Kan.) Community College linebacker Vernon Smith has been waiting for the phone to ring and finally, today, it did.
"I got a call from the K-State coaches today," the 5-foot-11, 230-pound Smith said. "They said they aren't interested in any more junior college linebackers right now. I guess Coach (Ron) Prince has some high school guys that filled them up. So, they didn't have any room for me.

"I also got a call today from Indiana. They are looking at me coming up this weekend. They want me to come visit and I probably will. They told me they had a scholarship for me.
"That is a good opportunity for me, so I will be taking the visit most likely and see what comes from that."
