Juco LB sticking with placement

One of the former top players in East Texas has found a new home at Garden City (Kan.) Community College and after this season, he'll find another new home. This time it will be in the Pacific Northwest.
Garden City C.C. inside linebacker Tyson Kirksey was placed at Garden City by Washington State and he plans on returning according to coach J.J. Eckert and sources close to the situation.

"He signed with Washington State in '04 out of Lufkin High School," Eckert said.
"He sat out in '04, went to Kilgore in '05 and didn't go back to Kilgore in spring of '05, and then came up here in the spring of '06 . He's been here a spring and a summer. He'll definitely be back at Washington State this next fall.
"Washington State made it clear they want him back."
Garden City started the season off on the right foot Saturday night with a big-time 21-17 victory over No. 2-ranked Trinity Valley C.C. on the road.
Kirksey had a good game, but that's not a surprise Eckert said.
"He's a guy that's your traditional MIKE linebacker," Eckert said.
"He's probably 5-foot-11, 235 or 240 pounds. He plays well between the tackles. He's probably more of an instinct type guy. We're pleased with having him. We feel he can solidify our defense quite a bit."
