Juco LB knows he will be in the Big 12

Garden City (Kan.) Community College linebacker Alvin Bowen took his second official visit of the year and is headed home with quite an impression.
“The visit to Iowa State went real good,” the 6-foot-2, 220-pound Bowen said. “I met a lot of really nice people and had good time overall. The strength coach is really good. I like his attitude about the weight room. The campus is really nice too. The people are all nice.”

The all-Jayhawk Conference selection isn’t quite ready to pull the trigger on a decision, though.
“I am going to go home and sit down with my mom,” he said. “I am not sure I am going to visit Kansas State. It is a tougher decision than I thought it would be. Iowa State is where I want to go, right now. I need to sit down with my mom and talk it over and see what she thinks about this.”
The New Jersey native previously took a visit to Akron, but knows what conference he will play football in next year.
“I took a trip to Akron earlier this fall,” he said. “I am going to call the coach there and let him know I won’t be going there. The Big 12 Conference is definitely where I am going to end up. It is a top notch conference with a lot of highly skilled players in it. It would prepare me for the next level. It will be either Iowa State or Kansas State. I'll decide before long if I will take my visit in January to Kansas State, or not."
Bowen will have three years to play three at his college choice.
