Juco DT starting to get looks

Garden City (Kan.) Community College defensive tackle D.J. Johnson is considered one of the best defensive lineman in the junior college ranks. As the fall signing period is about to open, more schools will begin to look toward May graduates, like Johnson.
“D.J. is a very good football player,” Garden City assistant coach Brian Hill said. “He was named first-team All-American by the NJCAA this year. He also was a first-team Jayhawk Conference pick.”

The schools showing interest in Johnson remain few though.
“Really just three schools, I’d say,” Hill said. “East Carolina, Kansas and Kansas State are in the evaluation stages on D.J. They have film of him and are watching it. We’ll start to hear more from them and maybe some others next month.”
Johnson, a native of Houston, signed with Syracuse out of high school.
