Juco DT returns from first visit

Garden City (Kan.) Community College defensive tackle DJ Johnson took his first official visit this weekend.

“I just got back from East Carolina a little earlier,” the 6-foot-2, 294-pound Johnson said. “The visit went pretty good. I met a lot of really nice people and enjoyed learning more about their program and the school.”

Despite his visit, the first-team All-American finds himself no closer to a decision.

“I’m no closer to a decision,” he said. “I’m considering Kansas and East Carolina. That really is it for schools. I am going to visit Kansas this coming weekend. Right now that’s the last visit I have scheduled. You never know what might come up, but those are the only two schools expressing interest in me.”
