Juco DT receives first scholarship offer

North Dakota State College of Science defensive tackle Bobby Jones has picked up his first scholarship offer.
“Bobby was offered a scholarship from the University of Cincinnati today,” NDSCS assistant coach Mike Shafer said. “He first talked with Mark Staten, the recruiting coordinator, and then with coach Mark Dantonio. Coach Dantonio talked with Bobby for awhile and then offered the scholarship.”

The first offer has the 6-foot-5, 275-pound Jones excited about the situation.
“Bobby is pretty jacked up,” Shafer said of the South Dakota native. “Cincinnati is actually losing a lot of their defensive line after this year so Bobby is a high priority for them.”
Other schools continue to express interest in Jones.
“Wisconsin has also recently expressed interest in him,” the coach said. “They saw his tape. Coach (Rob) Ianello said he liked what they saw.”
Jones is also receiving interest from Florida, Iowa, Kansas State, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oregon and Texas A&M.
