Juco DT picks Big 12

Kansas coach Mark Mangino has built some good relationships with the junior college coaches throughout the Midlands Region because of his time at Kansas State and Oklahoma. Now that he's at Kansas, he's picking up with another solid junior college addition.
Miami (Okla.) Northeastern Oklahoma A&M defensive tackle Michael Pruitt committed to the Jayhawks last night, picking KU over Tulsa, Oklahoma State, Houston (offer) and Tennessee.

"He's very aggressive," NEO coach Dale Patterson said.
"He goes about 6-foot-2, 280 pounds and has great quickness at 4.8-seconds in the 40-yard dash. He's originally from El Reno, so he's getting to stay close to home and play in the Big 12.
"He was a guy that was starting to really become a hot commodity with the college coaches. Tennessee really liked him in the spring and they called the other day and told me that they were going to come back to look at him again. But I’m going to have to tell him he’s a Jayhawk now.”
Pruitt is a two-year starter for NEO, who is 5-0 on the season. He was used in numerous different situations as a freshman including dropping back into coverage on zone blitzes.
"He had two interceptions," Patterson said. "He played linebacker in high school, so he still has a little of that in him."
Pruitt is set to graduate in December and will have three years to play two seasons.
