Juco DT nearing final decision

Dodge City (Kan.) Community College defensive tackle Steve Burch has taken just two official visits, but four schools remain on his list as under consideration.

"I have been talking to Cincinnati, Toledo, Pittsburgh and Houston," 6-foot-2, 275-pound Burch said. "They are all sticking with me. I'm thinking things through about what I want to do."

Burch took just two official trips, a Nov. 19 trip to Toledo and a Dec. 10 trip to Cincinnati.

"I visited Toledo and Cincinnati," he said. "I had good trips. I went through this recruiting thing out of high school, too. All of the schools have all offered scholarships to me. I just am skeptical. I don't want to get to a place where I will be unhappy. I want to find a place I can finish my college career."

Burch plans to make his decision this week.

"I'm talking to my coaches about this early in the week," he said. "Then I hope to have a decision on Thursday. I'm leaning toward Toledo, right now, but they are all still in the mix."
