JUCO DT Javon Kinlaw will sign with Gamecocks

Junior college defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw is now officially committed to South Carolina once again and will ink a national letter of intent with the Gamecocks on Wednesday.

"Coach Muschamp is building something special and I want to be a part of it," Kinlaw told GamecockCentral.com. "It's also my home town and the fan base is like no other."

After moving to Goose Creek High in the Charleston area from D.C., Kinlaw drew several Division I offers out of high school. Upon Will Muschamp's hiring in December 2015, he offered Kinlaw and placed him at Jones County Community College in Mississippi.

The 6-foot-5, 330-pounder would eventually draw offers from Alabama, Louisville, Ole Miss, Southern Cal, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. He backed away from his pledge to the Gamecocks in November of 2016 and scheduled a slate of official visits. By December, USC was publicly back out in front for the junior college big man.

Kinlaw ended up taking just two official visits after dropping Alabama from his list - one to Southern Cal and one to South Carolina, which took place this past weekend. Following the trip to Columbia, Kinlaw said he was "100 percent South Carolina", with his announcement previously scheduled for Tuesday.

"Here, they look out for me," Kinlaw said after his official visit wrapped. "It's all about relationships."
