Juco DT drawing heavy interest

Dodge City (Kan.) Community College defensive tackle Steve Burch had a good season and college recruiters are taking note.
“Things are going pretty good,” the 6-foot-2, 275-pound Burch said. “I have a lot of schools after me. K-State, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, Kansas, Toledo, Central Florida and Iowa State are all recruiting me. All of them have offered me, too.”

Despite all of the visits, Burch has yet to schedule any official visits.
“I don’t have any set,” he said. “I don’t know where I want to go, yet. I want to wait and make sure I will pick the right places to visit. I am excited to see Oklahoma and Kansas, so I would like to visit there. Oklahoma is one of the top programs year in and year out and I think Kansas is a program that is going in the right direction. I want to see them all, really. I want to find the place that is best for me and needs me to come in there and play.”
The season has ended for Burch and his Dodge City teammates.
“We finished 3-5,” he said. “I wish we had won more games. I led the conference in two categories, sacks and forced fumbles. I had 10 sacks and five forced fumbles. I ended up with 53 total tackles and 13 for loss. It all sounds good, but I always feel like I can play better.”
