Juco DL returns from first trip

North Dakota State College of Science defensive lineman Bobby Jones took his first official visit of the year over the weekend. He still plans to take two more before making his choice.
“My visit to Michigan State went good,” the 6-foot-5, 275-pound Jones said. “I went to the game and everything. It was great. Cliff Ryan, one of the starting ends, was my host. He told me what it was like to be a defensive lineman at Michigan State. I got to watch their walk through on Friday and that was really neat. They said they didn’t know if I was a end or a tackle, but I can play both.”

The visit left an impression on the South Dakota native, but he isn’t ready to tip his hand yet.
“I am still going to take my other two visits. I have something in my head, but I’m not verbalizing it. I’m going to Kansas State next weekend (Nov. 9) and Wisconsin the first weekend of December (Dec. 3). I will make my final decision about a week after I get back from Wisconsin.”
Jones, who finished with nine quarterback sacks this season from his end position really doesn’t care what position he ends up at next year.
“Kansas State says they are recruiting me as an end, but they could move me inside. Wisconsin is the same way. They want me to play end, but can move me to the middle if the right package would be on the field.”
