Juco DE schedules third trip

Garden City (Kan.) Community College defensive end Rodney Allen has taken two official visits so far, but the four-star rated prospect isn't ready to make his decision, yet.
"I have visited Cincinnati and Iowa State," the 6-foot-3, 265-pound Allen said. "Both trips were good. They showed me around their school and the campus and their facilities. Each of them was impressive.

"I would say right now, I am favoring Kansas State and Iowa State. Iowa State treated me well on my visit and they've been a good program for a little while. Kansas State has been recruiting me for a long time and I like the way their defense plays. They are a team that always wins. I know it wasn't a good year this season, but the coaches are telling me if I go there, I can help them get back to the top."
Two other schools on Allen's list are Kansas and Oklahoma State.
"I will visit Kansas State the second weekend of January," he said. "Then I'm talking to Kansas and Oklahoma State, too. Kansas has talked to me about visiting later in January, but nothing is set. Oklahoma State has told me they are interested in me. I haven't set up a date with Oklahoma State, either. All of the schools have offered me scholarships.
Allen will graduate from Garden City in May and join his new team in the summer.
"I'm a May graduate. I have three years to play two, but I'm not going to redshirt. I'm going somewhere to play right away."
As a sophomore, Allen recorded 12 quarterback sacks and 62 tackles on his way to earning first-team all-conference honors in 2004.
