Juco DE makes a pledge

Cerritos (Calif.) College defensive end Ryan Davis took the second official visit of the month this weekend. The three-star rated prospect traveled to Berkeley to visit Jeff Tedford's Cal program.
"My visit to Cal was great," the 6-foot-4, 257-pound Davis said. "I committed to Cal. I did it today. I was out there on a visit and I just decided it was what I wanted to do.

"I told Coach Tedford that I wanted to come there. He was happy. The staff was happy that I committed."
A lot of factors went into the decision for the nation's No. 98 rated junior college player.
"The team at Cal has a winning spirit and the dedication of the players and the academic programs are just great. I am majoring in history and their history program is second in the nation. They have a great team and great players and I can't wait to be part of it.
Everything was just right so I committed."
Davis has told one other school that was recruiting him of his decision, but is not spreading the word all around.
"I told North Carolina State. They were the first school I called. I haven't told any of the other schools. I don't see myself de-committing, but I could be interested in some other visits to make sure Cal is the right place. I have talked to Oregon. They set me up for the first weekend in January. I talked to Nick Holt from USC. He told me to call him when I got back from Cal.
"I am taking a visit to Kansas next weekend and I will take one to Tennessee for January 22. I only have two more trips I can take, so I will have to cut out two of them. I will be going to Kansas next weekend. I do know that if it is going to be the Pac-10, I will be going to Cal. The other schools would be me giving them a shot if I do take the visits. USC and Oregon are likely out since they are in the Pac-10."
