Juco DE/LB looking South

Three-star Dodge City (Kan.) Community College defensive end/outside linebacker Cedric Koger has several southeastern schools at the top of his list as he nears a college decision.
Koger (6-5, 247, 4.6) has offers from Kentucky, Clemson, East Carolina, UAB and Troy State. He’s made three of his official visits.

“I’ve visited Kentucky, East Carolina and Troy State,” he said. “They were all alright, but after going to Kentucky first and seeing how that level is in the SEC, I really liked that.
“I was there for the Arkansas game. It was a fun game. I liked the campus. They had nice facilities and a great weightroom. I met with all the coaches. Coach Brooks told me that defensive-wise they were young and could really use me at outside linebacker.
“I also got to meet with the education people that work with the football team – the C.A.T.S. Center. That was real impressive. I liked that a lot.”
He noted that Clemson is making a late push for his services, but was unsure whether he would make a visit to the Tigers.
“I’m getting close to a decision,” Koger said. “I may decide here in a week or so.”
Koger originally came out of Okeechobee (Fla.) High School in 2002. He said he has three years to play two at the next level.
This season at Dodge, Koger was fifth on the team in tackles with 70 and led the Conquistadors with 8.5 sacks. He earned second-team All-KJCCC honors.
