Juco DE is Big 12 bound

Two-star defensive end Brandon Sharpe of Fresno (Calif.) Fresno City C.C. was supposed to take a visit to Akron this weekend. However, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound Sharpe didn't make the trip because he already pulled the trigger for another team.
"I gave Texas Tech a verbal a couple weeks ago," Sharpe said. "It was just a better choice I figured. It was closer to home. They've got nice facilities and a good program. All the coaches are cool. Everyone is down to earth."

Sharpe really bonded with Red Raider assistant coach Brian Mitchell and his visit to Lubbock also helped aid his decision.
"I enjoyed everything," Sharpe said. "I loved the food. I liked their press box. They have a nice press box. They had a nice football field, nice weight room and nice training facilities."
Sharpe also visited San Jose State last month. However, he says he's happy with his decision to be a Red Raider.
"I'm pretty solid on it," Sharpe said.
Sharpe played at Hibbing C.C. in 2005 and is originally from Georgia. He will have three years to play two seasons at Tech.
