Lee Hayes says he'll announce his
college decision on Monday.
"I'm down to two teams. I'll be announcing between Memphis and Mississippi
State," he said. "They're both about even right now, but Memphis has come on a
little bit lately. They've signed three of my teammates, so that's helping in
their favor. But I like Mississippi State a lot, too. They've been recruiting me
for a long time."
Originally from Hopkinsville (Ky.) High School, Hayes (5-10, 175, 4.4) signed
with Arkansas in 2000 but left the program after pleading guilty to misdemeanor
shoplifting charges in July of 2001. He bounced back -- personally and
athletically -- with a solid season at Northeast in 2002, establishing a
reputation as one of the league's top cover men and recording three
interceptions.
