JUCO back has SEC offers

East Mississippi Junior College running back LeGarrette Blount averaged more than 150 yards per game last season and has two Southeastern Conference football programs interested in his services. The 6-foot-2, 235-pounder talked about his recruitment in an interview with Rivals.com on Tuesday.
"I've got (verbal) offers from Ole Miss and Alabama and that's about it," Blount said.

Crimson Tide assistant Kevin Steele is recruiting Blount for Bama.
"They are telling me that they want a big back that can carry the load," Blount said. "I just like that they run the ball and the coaches are pretty good guys. I have been to Alabama before and it's a very nice place for sure."
Blount keeps in contact with the Rebels coaches.
"They've been telling me that if I sign with them, they aren't going to recruit anymore running backs," Blount said. "They also tell me that I will get a chance to come in and start."
Ole Miss assistant coach Tony Hughes is recruiting Blount for the Rebels.
"Early playing time is a big factor," Blount said.
Blount, a native of Perry, Fla., would like to hear from one of the Sunshine State's major powers.
"I'm waiting to hear from Florida, for them to say something," Blount said.
Blount rushed for 1,260 yards and 16 touchdowns last season at East Mississippi.
