JUCO athete plays both ways

Rarely does a player plays both ways on the college level. It's even more rare if a player plays on both sides of the ball does as a trenchman. There is such a player on the JUCO level, and he has football pedigree as well.
The player in question is Shane Lapka (6-3, 255, 4.8) from Fullerton (Calif.) College.

If the name Lapka sounds familiar to USC Trojan and New York Giant fans, it is because Lapka is the son of Myron Lapka, a former Trojan and Giant.
Fullerton head coach Gene Murphy was full of praise for his young student-athlete.
“Shane is one of the best athletes on the team, he may even be the best athlete on the team,” Murphy said. “He has the talent to play on either side of the ball on the D-I level.”
Lapka is currently in the rotation for both the offensive and defensive lines. As a defensive player, he is quick to the ball.
In Lapka’s last game he had three solo tackle before the end of the first half. He left the game with a minor injury.
“I will be back 100 percent,” Lapka said. “It was a minor twinge and we had a bye week so I’m ready to go.”
Most schools are looking at Lapka as a center prospect, but he is just beginning to grab recruiter’s attention with his defensive end abilities.
Arizona is showing a lot of interest in Lapka and could be on the verge of offering. Oregon and Oregon State are also showing interest.
