Juarez to make a late decision

For one California junior college linebacker a decision could come within a couple of days. Los Angeles Harbor College linebacker Steven Juarez received an offer from Michigan State last week and expects that he will make a decision soon.
"Probably in the next couple of days," Juarez said. "I think I'll probably take it but I need to think about it a little more."

According to Juarez, Utah, Washington, Boise State and Utah State have also expressed interest in recent weeks but Michigan State is the front-runner.
"It's pretty exciting," Juarez said. "I don't know how I'll feel when I step on the field."
Juarez is 6-foot-2, 230 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash near 4.5 seconds. His coach at Harbor calls him arguably the best athlete on the team.
"This kid might have been the best athlete on the entire team, including Bolio," said Harbor head coach Steve Schmitz.
Schmitz was referring to talented freshman wide receiver Mike Bolio, who recently committed to USC.
Juarez was a two-time all-Western States Conference selection at Harbor and attended North Torrance High School. He is scheduled to have his Associates Degree at the end of this semester and places precedence on education.
"I'm doing whatever I can do to get to wherever I can get," Juarez said. "I want to get a degree."
Juarez likes the chances of playing right away at Michigan State this season as Spartan coaches have intimated that they have an immediate need at outside linebacker.
"They want me to come in and play outside," Juarez said. "They said the rest of the spots on the field were pretty locked up with the exception of outside."
