Joseph sets decision date

Long Beach Poly (Calif.) defensive back Vincent Joseph was planning to visit Washington this weekend but had to take the ACT on Saturday. The cornerback has re-scheduled the trip for January but he's planning to make his decision prior to the visit.
Joseph, 5-9, 180 pounds had earlier visited Colorado, Oregon and Washington State and said he's going to announce his choice December 31 during the CaliFlorida Bowl.

"I really wanted to check out Washington this weekend but I had to put my test (ACT) first," Joseph said. "I now have it set for (Jan. 6) but I told them I'm going to commit before then and asked them if they still wanted me to visit if I'm committed elsewhere. They said they did but we'll just see what happens.
"Right now, Oregon is still looking really good. Not only was that my best visit but they're recruiting me the hardest too. I had a great home visit with Coach Pellum and I've told every coach that has called me that Oregon is my leader so I think a lot of schools know they have some catching up to do.
"I still like Washington State a lot and they're recruiting me really hard as well. They stay in constant contact with me with calls and letters and those are really the main two I'm looking at right now."
Joseph has also been playing the waiting game all season with his dream school, USC, but it sounds like that dream could be coming to an end pretty soon.
"I haven't heard from them in about a month so I'm starting to realize it's not going to happen," Joseph said. "I mean, I've been realizing that for awhile now but I still kind of hoped it could happen but it looks like they just want to go in a different direction right now. I've called them a few times but I haven't heard back so I think it's time to turn my attention to the schools that have been recruiting me hard all along and I'm fine with that.
"I have some great choices and I'm happy with my options. Coach Wilks from Washington will be coming over tomorrow for a home visit and that will be about it for me until I decide. I'm not visiting anywhere next weekend so I'm just going to relax a but until the practices for the CaliFlorida Bowl start up."
